Aaron Duncan – A Young, Powerful and Decorated Soca Artiste from Trinidad & Tobago!

Born June 25th, 2003 in Port of Spain Trinidad, Aaron Duncan is a force to be reckoned with. His career blossomed in 2010 at age six when he won his first National Junior Calypso Monarch Title with a track entitled, ‘Doh Waste It.’ He created history by becoming the youngest ever to win the said title which he did a total of four times consecutively. The young performer traveled all over the world portraying his talent and has continued to build his fan base from ever since.

In 2011, Aaron teamed up with Soca King Machel Montano to shoot a commercial for Sunshine Snacks. This commercial was shot with a local advertisement agency, Corbin Communications. During this period Duncan was known as the ‘Mini Machel’. This promising star was also awarded for his excellence and outstanding achievements from the Top 20 Stars of Tomorrow in Trinidad.

In 2012, he was awarded Trinidad and Tobago’s Express Youth of the Year alongside his first Junior Soca Monarch title showcasing his versatility as an entertainer. He also dominated the regional competitions all around the country. After taking the entertainment world by storm, Aaron performed alongside many celebrities such as the Mighty Sparrow, Patrice Roberts and Soca King, Machel Montano just to name a few. He was also honored in the City of Boston.

In 2013, he won his first Junior Chutney Soca Monarch title which he went on to win four more times consecutively. In total, Aaron has eleven national wins under his repertoire.

Aaron is seen as the King of the Juniors. In 2015, he was awarded the National Youth for Arts and Culture. With all these accomplishments, Duncan remains grounded.

Carnival 2016 was an entire game changer for Aaron when he sang his first major hit, ‘Can You Feel It.’ He performed this song in sold out concerts all over the world, countries like Belize, New York and Toronto just to name a few; and all the Caribbean countries.

He was demanded in local and international shows because the song was a crowd favorite. He became the only youth from Trinidad to accumulate more than eight million views on YouTube. This was Duncan’s big break as he became a renowned name in the Soca arena ever since.

After that year, he retired from all Junior Competitions and left a legacy that would always be remembered. Since then, Aaron Duncan has been a name circling around the big leagues of Soca music as he continued to please people with his many releases for the carnival seasons. In 2018, he became the youngest ever to qualify for finals of the International Soca Monarch. He was also awarded by the Top 20 Stars of Gold in Trinidad.

Aaron has always been an inspiration for the youth all over the world. Carnival 2019, he released his 2nd biggest hit song, ‘Back To Basics’ which was an anthem for all Soca lovers. With over one million views on YouTube, Duncan’s song was a success and he performed this track all over the world.

Being part writer of his 2020 Soca Caught Up, he shows his versatility in the music industry. While being a singer/songwriter, he also puts his hand in music production and has his own music studio. Aaron wants to be able to do everything concerning the music and entertainment world.

Some of his latest achievements was the placement of his song, Can You Feel It in a Netflix Original Movie, ‘The Dolphin Kick.’ He created history as he became the youngest Trinidadian ever to have his song played in a movie. He was also honored by the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organization with the Junior Calypso Achiever Award. Aaron is constantly working towards his mission in being a part of taking Soca and Calypso to the international market. He was also awarded in Toronto, Canada by the Toronto Caribbean Carnival. Aaron continues to amaze the fans with his music and accomplishments at such a young age.

 At 16, Duncan continues to pursue both his musical passion and academics with equal vigor. A versatile, spirited and gifted young boy, Aaron without a doubt is an Ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago.
