“Stand up for what is right regardless of who is committing the wrong.” “When we stand up for what we believe in—for what’s right—there is always a chance that we risk the very things we fight for: our safety, our lives, our freedom. But if we stand down, the risk is definite.”
Oh, how delightful!! My heart was overflowing with JOY!!! The only ALL GIRL’S INSTITUTION on the island of St. Lucia, boycotted face to face tuition on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021.
What a BOLD and IMPRESSIVE MOVE!
The young ladies took charge of their future.
Please help me understand!!! How could the girls have a future when their HEALTH AND SAFETY was placed in JEOPARDY?
“And one day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.”
Countless pleas to shut down schools have fallen on deaf ears. Various groups have called upon the Ministry of Education for the suspension of face to face learning at ALL SCHOOLS. Covid-19 figures climbs that steep hill with no end in sight. The authorities continue to play hardball! This is not a game of GOLF!!!
Our children’s lives should NEVER be COMPROMISED!! THE UNIVERSE IS THEIR PLAYGROUND!!!
The NOTION that it is wrong to challenge authority must NEVER be IMPLANTED in the minds of our children. A nation can only boast about its wealth when its people have harvested the necessary analytical skills to enact change. Resistance brings about meaningful change.
The Student Body of the St. Joseph Convent got down to business right away. They quickly put pen to paper by penning a letter to the Ministry of Education and the authorities. They indicated they would not be returning to classes in lieu of the current pandemic. The letter stated students would not be doing face to face learning and demanded online tuition. They also requested that every student without a learning device should be provided with one.
The Team at Reflect the Change salute the St. Joseph Convent Student Body as our “Inspiration of the Week.”
All the best girls with your online learning!!
