Let’s get right down to business!
The people of St. Lucia were flown into a tailspin from March 2020 due to Miss Rona.
Could you envision that it took the Business Community eight months to find their voices? Not even finding “NEMO’ in the depths of the sea was so hard.
Apparently, the moo moo tablets they drank mysteriously dissipated.
Alas!!! They have awaken from their slumber and now want to push their agenda dubbed, RECOVER ST.LUCIA! Please don’t make me laugh!!! Is the Business Community in bed with the government? Do you really care about the hardship the St. Lucian people have endured for the past eight months? Did you not listen to the Government of St. Lucia, April 2020 Appropriation Bill??? Why weren’t you shouting at the top of your vocal cords asking the Prime Minister to avert course?
We do have a thriving local economy you know!!
However, out of a Bugs Bunny hat you surfaced with a “Recover St.Lucia” slogan! Please have several sits as this is very disingenuous on your part. No one cared about the average man in St.Lucia. The average man has suffered immensely. As corporate citizens the greed and selfishness oozed out of your pores. Imagine St. Lucia is now blacklisted as a “HIGH RISK” country and has been pushed out of the bubble.
The stench of your uncaring nature sends chills through my spine. One of your team members who now sits on this “Recover St.Lucia Gimmick Team” uttered the words below, in an article dated November 17, 2020.
“Shutting down the country and forcing businesses to close a second time is not an option, even if Saint Lucia is experiencing a second wave of COVID-19.”
Please help me understand! Am I to take the above statement seriously?
As I write this article the RONA NUMBERS have increased exponentially. It has ballooned from 29 cases to 203 cases. Where did our leaders of Fair Helen go wrong? Elucidation is warranted. Are we the ordinary people of St. Lucia supposed to sit by and let the Lodge of this little rock play with our lives and that of our family? Oh Wait!!!! The mighty dollar is more valuable than the lives of our people.
Why didn’t the “Business Community” during the past four years pressure the GOSL for better medical facilities for the ordinary citizens? Why didn’t they push for no child goes without a laptop and internet services? Why didn’t we hear their voices so that NO child would go to school hungry? Why didn’t we hear their voices as LOUD as we are hearing it today? The chicken has come home to roost so they are feeling the financial meltdown in their bottom line.
Didn’t the Prime Minister say that the country has no more money?
Alas!! Let’s do whatever it takes to keep the ordinary citizen in bondage. We are in bondage my people serious bondage.
Why didn’t the Business Community advocate for better treatment of our locals when placed at quarantine facilities or respiratory hospitals? In the first instance when Rona first raised her ugly head the government planned on placing patients at Rat Islet. We didn’t hear a peep from the Business Community.
Has anyone heard whether the Business Community asked GOSL to account for the $78M which was supposed to be used for all citizens affected by RONA?
Who really cares about the ordinary man, woman, boy or girl in St. Lucia?
IT IS NOT AN OPTION.
THE COUNTRY NEEDS TO SHUT IT BORDERS FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS SO THAT THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS CAN CARRY OUT URGENT ASSESSMENT.
MEASURES SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE ENSURING THAT CITIZENS CAN SURVIVE FOR THESE TWO WEEKS.
A government mandate is the people and NOT the Business Community!
“Recover St.Lucia” is the Sham of 2020.
